New Delhi, September 7, 2026: Indian space-technology startup Pixxel has raised $100 million in Series C funding, marking one of the biggest funding rounds recorded by an Indian space-tech company. The round was co-led by Singapore-based investment firm Temasek and UK-based Seraphim, with participation from new and existing investors.
The latest investment takes Pixxel’s total funding to approximately $195 million, strengthening the Bengaluru-based company’s plans to expand its presence across satellite technology, Earth intelligence and space infrastructure.
1 Pixxel’s $100 Million Funding Round
Pixxel said the Series C round was co-led by Temasek and Seraphim, with new investors including 360 ONE Asset and IMM Investment. Existing investors, including Radical Ventures and growX Ventures, also participated in the round.
The company plans to use the fresh capital to accelerate its expansion beyond hyperspectral imaging and develop a broader space-technology ecosystem involving satellites, Earth intelligence software, sovereign space systems and satellite manufacturing.
The funding represents an important step in Pixxel’s ambition to build what it describes as planetary-scale infrastructure combining sensors, software and satellite systems.
2 From Hyperspectral Imaging to Earth Intelligence
Pixxel initially gained attention for its work in hyperspectral satellite imaging, a technology capable of collecting detailed information about the Earth’s surface across numerous wavelengths.
The company’s technology can potentially support applications across agriculture, climate monitoring, environmental assessment, mineral exploration and other industries that rely on detailed Earth-observation data.
Pixxel has also expanded its focus toward Earth intelligence software through its Aurora platform, designed to turn satellite-generated information into insights that can be used for commercial and government applications.
3 Funding to Support Satellite Expansion
A key area of Pixxel’s expansion strategy is its satellite infrastructure. The company plans to further develop its Honeybee satellite constellation alongside high-resolution imaging satellites.
The new funding is expected to help Pixxel increase its data-gathering capabilities while expanding the software infrastructure needed to process and deliver Earth-observation intelligence.
This could position the company to compete more strongly in the growing global market for satellite-based data and intelligence.
4 What the Deal Means for India’s Space-Tech Industry
Pixxel’s latest funding comes as India’s private space sector continues to attract increasing attention from global investors.
India’s space industry has been undergoing significant changes since reforms opened more opportunities for private companies to participate in the sector. Private startups are increasingly involved in satellite manufacturing, Earth observation, launch technology and space-based services.
The size of Pixxel’s latest investment highlights growing investor confidence in Indian space technology and the potential for Indian companies to build globally competitive space businesses.
Reuters reported that the $100 million round represents the single-largest funding round by an Indian space-tech company.
5 What’s Next for Pixxel?
With total funding reaching around $195 million, Pixxel is entering a new phase of expansion.
The company’s strategy is increasingly focused on building an integrated platform covering satellites, sensing technology, software and space infrastructure rather than limiting its operations to satellite imaging alone.
The fresh capital could help Pixxel accelerate satellite deployment, expand its Earth intelligence capabilities and pursue additional commercial and government opportunities globally.
6 India’s Startup Ecosystem Enters a New Space-Tech Phase
Pixxel’s funding round reflects a broader trend in India’s startup ecosystem, where investors are increasingly looking beyond traditional consumer internet and fintech businesses toward deep-tech sectors.
Space technology, artificial intelligence, semiconductor technology, robotics and advanced manufacturing are attracting growing interest because of their potential to create high-value intellectual property and globally scalable businesses.
For India’s space-tech ecosystem, Pixxel’s $100 million funding round could therefore represent more than a single company’s fundraising milestone—it signals increasing investor interest in India’s ambitions to become a major player in the global space economy.
