CET 2027 Exam Structure Explained for First-Time Applicants

What Is CET 2027?

The Corporate Entrance Test is a national-level assessment for final-year students and recent graduates across India. It is organized by Startup Times and connects candidates with a wider corporate ecosystem.

CET focuses on measuring skills that are relevant to the modern workplace, including quantitative ability, logical reasoning, communication, business awareness, and workplace judgment.

CET 2027 Exam Pattern

The CET 2027 written examination is conducted online and is designed to be completed within 90 minutes.

The exam consists of:

  • 100 multiple-choice questions
  • 100 total marks
  • 90-minute duration
  • +1 mark for every correct answer
  • -0.25 marks for every incorrect answer
  • English medium
  • Online, remotely proctored examination

The scheduled examination date is January 31, 2027.

1. Quantitative Aptitude & Numerical Ability — 25 Questions

This section tests your ability to work with numbers and solve practical quantitative problems.

  • Syllogisms
  • Statement-conclusion
  • Seating arrangements
  • Puzzles
  • Analytical reasoning

3. Verbal Ability & English Comprehension — 20 Questions

This section evaluates your communication and English-language skills.

You can expect questions on:

  • Reading comprehension
  • Grammar
  • Sentence correction
  • Vocabulary
  • Fill in the blanks
  • Para jumbles
  • Sentence completion
  • Basic professional email etiquette

4. General Awareness & Corporate Knowledge — 15 Questions

This section focuses on your awareness of the business and corporate environment.

  • Business and economy current affairs
  • Indian economy
  • Corporate-sector basics
  • Major industries and companies
  • Business terminology
  • Government policies related to business and startups

5. Workplace Judgment & Situational Reasoning — 15 Questions

This is one of the key features that makes CET different from a conventional aptitude examination.

Questions are designed around workplace situations and may test:

  • Professional ethics
  • Workplace conduct
  • Teamwork
  • Communication
  • Conflict resolution
  • Time and priority management
  • Workplace decision-making

What Happens After the Exam?

CET is not limited to the written examination. Candidates receive a National Rank, percentile, and Corporate Readiness Report, providing an indication of their strengths and areas for improvement.

Shortlisted candidates then move through the interview and selection process before entering the Corporate Launch Program.

1,000 Students. A Corporate Launch Opportunity.

Selected candidates can enter the 3-month Corporate Launch Program, designed to develop practical workplace and professional skills.

The program includes areas such as:

  • Professional communication
  • Resume building and personal branding
  • Corporate etiquette
  • Excel, PowerPoint and business tools
  • Sales and negotiation
  • Interview and group discussion preparation
  • Domain foundations
  • Live projects and case studies

The program is fully online and includes employer evaluation through CET’s network.

For CET 2027, 1,000 students will have the opportunity to enter the Corporate Launch Program.

Opportunity to Experience Dubai

The CET journey can extend beyond India.

Top-performing candidates from the Corporate Launch Program can compete for the Dubai Global Experience, offering exposure to international business environments, corporate visits, workshops, global leaders, and networking opportunities.

20 students will have the opportunity to experience Dubai as part of the CET program.

CET 2027 Fee

The examination fee is ₹250.

The fee covers the assessment process and candidate evaluation, including the National Rank Card and Corporate Readiness Report.
