Dr. Salim Khan is a man on a mission to end hunger in India. He is the founder of Little India Foundation, a registered NGO that provides free meals to underprivileged communities through its Food Ambulance service. But Dr. Khan’s work doesn’t stop there. He also runs a unique women empowerment program called Nari Shakti, where women come together to support and empower each other. Today, the program has over 200 women who work towards making the world a better place. Dr. Khan’s work has not gone unnoticed, and he has been nominated for the prestigious Padma Shree award in 2020.

 

One of the significant initiatives that Dr. Khan has started is the Chillar campaign, which aims to end hunger in India. With this campaign, Dr. Khan encourages people to donate just one rupee to the cause, and each rupee collected goes towards providing free meals to those who need it. The campaign has been a great success, and it has helped the foundation continue its 365-day free meal program.

 

The food ambulance service is a unique initiative of Little India Foundation that delivers free meals to underprivileged communities. This initiative has been instrumental in controlling the malnutrition and anemic deaths ratio in India. With the help of volunteers and supporters, the Food Ambulance service has been able to reach out to people across the country and provide them with nutritious meals.

 

Dr. Salim Khan’s passion for helping those in need extends beyond just providing free meals. He understands the importance of oxygen in saving lives, especially during a pandemic. That’s why he has set up a Free Oxygen Bank and provides free oxygen concentrator support to those in need.

 

The oxygen concentrators provided by Dr. Khan’s foundation are designed to purify and filter air from the surrounding environment and deliver it in a concentrated form to patients in need. This initiative has been a lifesaver for many people who cannot afford expensive medical treatment and equipment.

 

In addition to this, Dr. Khan has also launched a 24/7 helpline to ensure that no one goes hungry or sleeps hungry. This helpline is a vital resource for people who need food assistance and support during emergencies. The helpline is available round the clock, and Dr. Khan’s team ensures that every call is answered promptly.

 

Dr. Khan’s commitment to providing essential resources to those in need has made him a role model for many. Dr. Khan’s Free Oxygen Bank and 24/7 helpline have become vital resources for many people in need, and his work is helping to make a significant difference in the lives of many

Little India Foundation also runs various other programs to help people in need. For example, the foundation distributes 4 lakh sanitary napkins every year to parts of rural areas and urban development cities. They also have a training center called Masti Ki Pathsahala, which is located in slums and shanties to teach underprivileged kids with smart learning skills to make them self-trained to earn for themselves and be independent.

Dr. Khan’s work has been recognized globally, and he has received numerous awards for his contribution to society. For example, he was given an honorary doctorate in Social Entrepreneur Services and was awarded the Pandit DeenDayal Upadhyaya Excellence award in 2022. Little India Foundation has been recognized as the best NGO in India for the past three years, and Dr. Khan’s work has been covered by various media outlets, including a French news channel that produced a documentary on his work.
