The first products of the Zara Renewcell collaboration are now available on the Inditex brand’s e-commerce site.
The clothes in the Zara x Circulos capsule collection, which launched on August 4, are made from 100 percent recycled fabrics by the Circulos brand. Styles include long dresses with cut-out details as well as open-weave sweaters and ribbed ensembles, all in natural, undyed colors.
Circulos, developed by Renewcell, is a biodegradable raw material used to produce textile fibers such as viscose and lyocell for the fashion market. The fiber brands produced by Circulus help limit the use of virgin textile fibers, reducing the climate and environmental impact of raw material production and waste.
“Zara is one of the biggest fashion brands in the world, demonstrating its power to affect real change in the industry,” said Reneaucell CEO Patrick Lundström. “Collaborating with such global brands brings our vision to transform fashion to life, and without partners like Zara joining this transformation, our rapid growth would not be possible. We are delighted to announce that this collection by Circulos is the latest step in our ongoing collaboration.”

Zara’s website includes a Renewcell landing page to educate consumers on how fiber technology works. Inditex’s head of sustainable production and supply chain, German García Ibanez, said in a video posted on the site that Circuloz “shows that circularity can exist in this industry.” From traditional virgin ingredients.
Soon to be commercialized in its new factory in Sudsvall, Sweden, 100 percent recycled textile-to-textile Circulos continues to save waste from landfill by creating circular supply chain value with brands around the world at Renewcell. Now with Zara.
The new plant is expected to recycle 60,000 tonnes of material per year. In March, Reneusel signed a letter of intent with Japanese cellulose fiber producer Daiwabo Rayon Company for a long-term business cooperation in the production of man-made cellulosic fiber. The agreement confirms the two companies’ willingness to work together to supply textile fibers made using Circulos.
In January, Reneausel signed multi-year purchase agreements with three European textile producers, securing a large-scale supply of garments for a new large facility in Ortviken next year. Agreements with Germany’s SoEx, TechSide Switzerland and Sweden’s Sisav lock in thousands of tonnes of textile waste each year for conversion to Circulos.
For Zara, this collaboration is part of parent company Inditex’s “Sustainability Innovation Hub”, an open innovation platform. The aim is to work with start-ups, academic institutions and technology centers to develop new materials, technologies and processes that reduce fashion’s environmental footprint and help achieve more sustainable production.
Zara and Inditex They aim to achieve climate neutrality by 2040.
