BECKLEY, WVVA (WVVA) – The West Virginia University Institute of Technology in Beckley will host a fashion show fundraiser next month. The university is using the event as a fundraiser for the athletic department to continue competing nationally and to ensure its ability to recruit athletes.
The show is sponsored by the New River Gorge Regional Development Authority and features fashions by international designers from West Virginia.
Jane Wood, executive director of university relations at WVU Tech, said this unique fundraising method has brought nothing but support.
“This is the first signature event we’ve done for athletics in over a decade, and so everybody’s really excited and we’ve had a lot of support from the campus, the community. Our sponsors have been great, and our retailers have been great to work with to give people an opportunity to do this.
The Glam Night Out fashion show will be held on October 22 at Glade Spring Resort. Here, community members model the fashions on the runway.
