Ellen DeGeneres’ fashion consultant, Kellen Richards, once shared her thoughts on dressing Britney Greener for the upcoming ESPY Awards Menswear. Richards, who was Griner’s stylist at the time, admits that her client’s menswear choices posed a particular challenge for her. She then went on to compare the fashion choices of her two clients, Ellen DeGeneres and Britney Griner.

In the year During an interview session backstage on Conan O’Brien’s The Tonight Show in 2013, Griner was tasked with choosing outfits for the upcoming ESPIs with her stylist, Kellen Richards. During the interview, Richards got candid about Greener’s fashion choices.

Ellen’s fashion consultant, choosing men’s clothing for Britney Greener

Three days before her appearance on Conan in front of a national TV audience, Britney Griner seemed more concerned about her ESPY outfit. While picking out her clothes, Griner and her stylist struck up a casual conversation about fashion.

Indeed, Kellen Richards highlighted the differences in Greener and Ellen’s fashion choices. “With Ellen, we choose women’s clothing and add men’s clothing” explained Richards.

“In Brittany, it’s all men. And it’s even more twisted.” she added.

Coincidentally, Brittany Griner has always been drawn to menswear. In fact, she doesn’t always feel comfortable wearing women’s clothes. When she graduated high school, she wore a dress at her mother’s behest.

But the dress made her so uncomfortable and embarrassed that she had to give up that way altogether. However, dressing in men’s clothing as a woman often draws Greener invective from people on the Internet.

As a 6’9″ WNBA center, Griner clearly doesn’t look like the average woman on the outside. As a result, she was often bullied for her tall and narrow features.

Additionally, her choice of clothing and sexual orientation further accentuated the flood of jibes hurled on various platforms. However, the Phoenix Mercury star is determined to ignore the hate speech directed at her on a daily basis.
