Wagner LaGrange hit an RBI double that inning to make it a one-run game.
The Wild never looked back as Ian Walters and Tristan Peterson hit back-to-back solo home runs to take a 4-3 lead. LaGrange hit an RBI single in the fifth and Brocato followed with a sacrifice fly to bring home the second baseman and score Mang in the sixth to make it 6-3. Mang hit a sacrifice fly in the eighth as an insurance run to make it 7-3.
For the top of the ninth, Christian James stayed on the mound after pitching for the eighth. He struck out the first batter before allowing a double for the next double. Another fumble by James and Pop’s plane to Ward ended the game. James struck out four batters in two innings in the save.
