ERIE, Pa. – Visiting players from out of state dominated this week’s Wednesday Travel League event at Erie Golf Club.
Mike Baron of Mesa, Arizona, smokes the course, shooting a 1-over-par 73 for the low round. After a double bogey on the first hole, Baroni was able to 1-putt the rest of the way. He led the front nine with a 39 and the back nine with a 2-under par 34.
Baroni and Al Bradley of Munford, Tennessee, tied for the most points with 72 each. Tim Siragusa of Houston, Texas, finished fifth with an 82 and Al Etzel of Ocala, Florida, was the B Flight champion.
Wayne Stoughton finished in second place with an 80. Josh Hilliker and Jeff Nelson tied for third with 81 each. Ed Tofil was the C Flight winner after a tie with Dave Wallace and Tim Walawender. Mike Willoughby won D Flight after a tie with Jack Hood. Bruce’s winner “week” The Chrabasz Commissioner’s Award was John Tofil, earning his fifth award of the season.
