BLACKSBURG, VA – Virginia Tech’s Board of Visitors met Monday to discuss the university’s course for the foreseeable future.
But this particular meeting was met with an influx of student input.
Consideration of tuition and fee increases was a hot topic at the meeting.
Graduate students and undergraduate students attended the meeting to express their opinions.
10 News reported earlier this month that graduate students are fighting for what they say is the need for a living wage from the university.
The same students attended Monday’s meeting and talked about how tuition and fee increases will affect what they say is an already stressful financial situation.
“A unifying thing for both undergraduate and graduate students, because in the context of not paying enough to meet current costs, then increasing tuition and fees as well as only escalates this problem,” the Senate president said. of Graduate Students, Ben Beiter.
A decision on tuition and fees will be made at a later date.
