On Wednesday, Virginia Tech signed 29 new players — 25 high schoolers and four transfers. The Class of 2023 represents Brent Pry’s first full cycle of recruits. Pry primarily recruited Justin Fuentes’ 2022 recruits after taking the job in December 2021.
After getting 23 recruits and five transfers last year and 29 more this year, Pry has brought in 57 players since becoming the coach in Blacksburg. One more class and this roster will be mostly Brent Pry guys.
Of course, there will be plenty of spoilers between now and the next signing day. There are likely to be many breakdowns between now and the start of the spring semester.
However, with a new group of 29 players added to the roster, it’s a good time to take stock of the current situation at each position and consider what it might tell us about what’s to come.
