Morris grew up in various locations throughout New England and claims Boston as home, attending college there for her undergraduate studies at Northeastern University. She is in her third of four years of veterinary college at Virginia Tech’s Blacksburg campus.
Morris began the process of qualifying for the show in August 2021 by taking “Jeopardy! Anytime Test” online. “Everybody should do it,” Morris said. “It’s just an online quiz.”
Her strong performance on that test led to a proctored test via Zoom and a screen test, which qualified her to be in a randomly selected pool of potential candidates. Her number came out late last year, and she flew to Culver City, Calif., for the shoot in January.
Morris said “everything and nothing” was going through her mind as she stood in front of the category board for the first time, watching Jeopardy! host and 74 times “Jeopardy!” winner Ken Jennings.
“I was worried about the buzz,” Morris said. “I was worried about the right physical push of the button, at the right time.”
