ATLANTA – Some Georgia Bulldog fans are trying to get some of the last flights out of Atlanta before the National Championship game in Los Angeles.
As of Sunday night, most flights from Atlanta to LAX were nearly sold out.
“I’m going to LA to see the Dags bring this win home,” said traveler Sheryl Merritt.

The few seats still available on Delta, American and United Airlines as of Sunday afternoon were between $1,000 and $5,000.
The cheapest option Channel 2 found for travelers was via Southwest and Spirit with flights ranging from $500 to $900.
Channel 2’s Elizabeth Rawlins spoke to several travelers who have been saving all year.
“Last January, I started putting $5 bills in a box and now I have about $1,200,” Jerry Howell said.
Chris Biggs lives in the UK and has been a Dawg fan for almost 10 years. He finally earned his savings last year.
“I’m very excited,” Chris Biggs said. “This is like Christmas Eve for me. I can not wait.”
TRENDS:
A trip from Georgia to LA is probably one of the longest trips for most Dawg fans, but Biggs may have set a record for miles traveled to a UGA game, coming from the UK to watch a game at Athens last fall.
However, Biggs told Rawlins that he will be watching this game from across the pond.
“It’s going to start after midnight here, so maybe there will be coffee and a nap before the game starts,” Biggs said.
No rest for the weary for many Dawg fans. There is no place they would not travel because regardless of the time and cost, the experience is priceless.
“This is a chance of a lifetime,” Howell said.
“You only live once,” Merritt said.
