GREENVILLE, NC – The East Carolina women’s basketball team returns to the road as it takes on the Cincinnati Bearcats on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
Last time out
The used Pirates started fast and closed out strong to beat Wichita State last time out. Amiya Joyner was fantastic again with 21 points, 10 boards and three blocks. Danae McNeal added 22 points and five steals on the day. The Pirates ended the game with a score of 20-8.
Scouting Cincinnati
The Bearcats have struggled throughout the season, but have shown some life of late, winning two of their last three contests over Tulane and Temple, both on the road. Cincinnati now sits at 9-15 on the season entering Wednesday’s contest.
Jillian Hayes and Mya Jackson lead the Bearcats with 13.1 and 11.8 points, respectively. Hayes also leads the team with 8.5 rebounds per game and 36 blocks.
History of the Series
The Pirates lead the all-time series with Cincinnati 13-8, including a four-game winning streak dating back to 2020. ECU took the last game Jan. 18 at Minges Coliseum. Joyner had a double-double with 18/10 while McNeal added 18 points, six steals and three blocks.
