This week, the Youngstown State women’s tennis team will be West Coast bound as they play three matches in three days. On Friday, the girls will take on Pacific, Saturday, Weber State and to finish the weekend, UNLV on Sunday.
The first serve of each match will begin at 1:00 PM ET all three days at the Fertitta Tennis Complex. YSU is 1-1 and Weber State is 1-2 while Pacific and UNLV are each opening their dual seasons this week.
Heading into this week’s games, the Guins won against Carnegie Mellon last week with a 5-2 victory. Jessica Stanmore leads the Guins with a 2-0 singles winning streak, while Eliska Masarikova AND Elisa Rigazio lead the Guins with a 2-0 doubles win streak.
The Guins beat Weber State for the first time last year and have played three games all-time against the Wildcats. The Penguins have dropped all seven contests all-time against the Rebels, but dropped a tough 4-3 decision in 2022. YSU’s last and only contest against Pacific was March 9, 2014.
