Muncie, Ind. – The Kent State men’s basketball team (22-5, 12-2 MAC) travels to Indiana to take on the Ball State Cardinals (19-8, 10-4 MAC). This will be the second meeting between the two teams this season. In their first game, the Flashes defeated the Cardinals 86-65 inside the MAC Center. Tip-off is at 7:00 p.m. and will be available on ESPN+ or heard on 850 AM ESPN Cleveland.
The Flashes are on the road for their 20th straight home win, which ranks them second in the Nation. With a 12-2 MAC record, the Flashes sit atop the Conference. The Flashes haven’t had 22 wins in a season since 2018-19 when the team went 22-11.
flashes’ Miryne Thomas returns to Ball State for the first time since transferring to Kent State in 2022. Thomas recorded 11.3 points and 4.9 rebounds per game during the 2021-2022 season and hit 55 3-pointers at Ball State. Heading into Tuesday’s game, Thomas has recorded 60 points from beyond the arc, averaging 11.0 points per game and a team-high 5.3 rebounds.
Keeping it honest continues to lead the Flashes by scoring in double figures in 23 different games and six games with 20+ points. malique jacobs broke his third school record in the team’s most recent game against EMU with three steals. Jacobs’ three steals puts her first in Kent State History for steals in a season with 77.
Discovery of cardinals
Ball State (19-8, 10-4 MAC) is looking to redeem itself from a recent loss against Western Michigan 78-68. The Cardinals have won most of their home games posting an 11-1 record inside Worthen Arena.
The Cardinals are fourth in the MAC and have clinched a spot in the MAC Tournament. The Cardinals are led by offensive leader Jarron Coleman who leads the Cardinals with 14.9 points, 3.7 assists and 1.4 steals per game. Payton Sparks is another Cardinal who has been a big part of their success leading the team with 8.5 rebounds per game which is fourth in the MAC.
The Cardinals average 80.3 points and carry a +11.8 point differential. At home, the Cardinals are shooting 48.7 percent from the field and averaging 5.9 steals per game.

Kent State will then travel to compete in their final road game of the regular season against Bowling Green on Saturday, February 25th. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:00 PM ET and can be seen on ESPN3.
