Springfield, Mo. – The Drew Lewis Foundation is hosting its 8th Annual Fashion Show tonight to raise money for children in need.
The Fashion Face Show takes place tonight at the historic Fox Theatre. The models in the fashion show will all be from the RISE program. RISE stands for Reaching Freedom Through Support and Education.
The CEO of the foundation, Amy Blancit, said that this event is about children. Proceeds from the show go directly to students and their families to pay for back-to-school supplies.
“For the first time, we actually had adults and kids,” Blanchitt said. “And everyone’s comment at the end of the show was, ‘You know, adults were fine, but we want to see more kids in the show.'”
The fashion show now features kids entirely. The children work with fashion experts to choose their clothes. Sometimes the kids go completely against the advice of the fashion experts, but that’s fine, Blanchett said.
“We make sure they have clothes that they love,” Blanchett said.
For the past two years, the event has been held online, but now the show will be live tonight from 6-8pm at the historic Fox Theater. Tickets are $30 each and benefit children in need.
