Young designers are not easy. Breaking a fashion can come at a financial and personal cost, and it takes a small army of pattern cutters, studio managers, researchers, and publicists to keep things moving.
To help the British Fashion Council and GQ BFC/GQ Designer Fashion Fund Cold Wall*, Craig Green, E. Tautz and Christopher Shannon to take their brands to the next level.
Last year’s winner VB was North London-based Scottish-Jamaican designer Nicholas Daley, who won the award for his distinctively deconstructed suits in explosive tartans, along with oversized cricket jumpers, peg-leg fisherman’s trousers and oversized tie-dye tees.
Applications for the 2023 BFC/GQ Designer Fashion Fund are now being accepted. The winner will receive a grand sum and invaluable mentoring and advice from the industry’s best talent. Any hopeful applicant’s collection should contain mostly men’s clothing, men’s accessories, or unisex clothing. Entries will be judged by a panel of industry experts.
