HARRISBURG, Pa. – Summer may be over, but there’s still plenty of time to get out and experience some of the most exciting activities in all of South Central Pennsylvania.
FOX43 is showing you how you can stay active while exploring the sights, sounds and tastes of Harrisburg.
Experience the capital like never before. Harrisburg Pedal Tours offer a unique way to get around town, stopping to enjoy food, drink or favorite historic sites along the way.
Learn about Harrisburg’s past, present and future on the History, Architecture and Everything Cool Tour, or hop among breweries and bars throughout the city.
“They’re all local spots, we’re starting right here on State Street,” Harrisburg Pedal Tours Owner Mike Leszczynski said. “We go up to the downtown area, we do some here on Second St., that’s where most of the bars are.”
The trolley is sure to provide a unique nighttime experience, but be sure to bring your energy. The 13-person carriages are pedal-powered, meaning you’ll have to work to get to your next destination.
“It’s overwhelming, the support of the cars that drive by,” Leszczynski said. “It’s one of those things that you might think might be a nuisance or something, but people love it, they get their cameras out, their phones are recording. They’re beeping, they’re waving.”
With a variety of tour routes, there are many different places to stop on your journey.
Whether it’s a birthday party, anniversary celebration or team building event, there’s something for everyone to enjoy on a pedal tour.
“It’s one of those things where it’s a party, extremely unique experience or just going out with your friends,” Leszczynski said. “You’ve got your favorite songs playing, you’re with all your friends. It’s just a big team effort to get the bike on the road.”
Weather permitting, tours continue through the summer and fall. Leszvzynski even says they’ll always give a tour to a group that wants to explore on a brisk winter night. You can find more information and book your tour here.
