PARIS (Reuters) – Moonfire Ventures, launched in 2020 by former Atomico co-founder Mattias Ljungman, said on Wednesday it had raised $115 million to invest in European technology start-ups and the AI (artificial intelligence) sector. .
The fundraising by Moonfire Ventures highlights Europe’s growth in artificial intelligence, which has prompted politicians around the world to consider how AI can be better regulated.
“Europe has been a leader in AI, and we think it’s our best bet to support the next generation of founders solving some of our biggest challenges in health, work, finance and gaming,” Ljungman said in a statement. .
The European Union’s chief technology officer, Margrethe Vestager, said earlier this week that the EU and the United States are determined to increase cooperation on artificial intelligence with a view to establishing minimum standards before the legislation comes into force.
