Meesho will use a flexible office model from June 1, 2023 and will roll out its ‘work from anywhere’ policy after announcing it a year ago.
The social business startup said workers relocating to Bengaluru will receive financial assistance covering travel, real estate brokerage, logistics, school re-enrollment and subsidized preschool services for children under six.
The development comes at a time when more offices have opened up, leading to a jump in rents in Bengaluru, among other things.
“All key decisions, especially regarding our people, are taken following extensive research in the company. That’s how we decided on the Borderless, Work from Anywhere model almost a year ago – after studying many models and talking to our people. We want them to be productive in the post-pandemic world.” To understand what they want, the company said in a press release.
Additionally, “in a recent survey, the majority of our employees said they want to meet in person to foster collaboration, live our fast-paced performance culture, and create informal connections.”
The company requires its employees to come to the office once a week and work remotely the rest of the days. According to Ashish Kumar Singh, HR Manager at Mesho, this move is based on our culture of proactively seeking and engaging with employee feedback. Our internal survey shows that borderless organization has shown benefits such as higher productivity, employees say. We unanimously agreed that we can further increase team bonding and collaboration (especially for new competitors), faster brainstorming and speed of execution.
