New York City, August 4, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — An enduring multifaceted artist Isabel Varela She is hosting her second solo art exhibition. Clothes: Mindful and recycledfrom August 11 – September 23, exposing viewers to the dangers of waste in the fashion industry and how her personal experiences helped shape her deep environmental advocacy. Varela collaborated with an organization called Chashama on the event.
Costumes: Mindful and Recycled is a sequel to Varela’s first solo art show. Clothing: MindfulRan in 2018 at Caelum Gallery in NYC. The event showcased Varela’s work, alongside like-minded sustainable artists, to capture the reality of wasteful fashion and what we as a society can do to improve things. Clothing: Mindful and Recycled will build on the 2018 theme, highlighting the flaws of the fashion industry and sharing the different initiatives people can take to show their support. The exhibit features mixed media pieces that focus on these concepts, including: three 10-foot sculptures, one 10-foot x 10-foot sculpture, three 60 x 60 inch mixed media works, and three 40 x 40 inch mixed media paintings. .
Varela’s main inspiration for the exhibition is her personal experience. She takes this space and opportunity to turn her pain, shame, and guilt into a powerful learning tool to help others transform and heal—which, in turn, heals our planet.
