Two players with local college ties are leaving the PGA Tour for its competitor. LIV Golf announced the signings of former Texas shortstop Mito Pereira and former UNT golfer Sebastian Munoz on Wednesday.
Pereira and Munoz join former SMU star Bryson DeChambeau, who joined LIV Golf in June 2022. Munoz has one career PGA Tour win which came in September 2019 at the Sanderson Farms Championship.
The 27-year-old Pereira has three victories on the Korn Ferry Tour to go with seven more as a professional. Pereira, a Chilean international, turned professional in 2015.
Munoz is a 30-year-old Colombian national who also turned pro in 2015 after playing collegiately at North Texas.
