From Corporate Aspirations to Community Transformation
When Krishna Satish embarked on his professional journey, he envisioned a future in the corporate world. With a background in accounting and business analytics, his career trajectory seemed set in stone. However, life had other plans. Today, as the founder of Malkajgiri Helping Hands, an NGO dedicated to uplifting underprivileged communities, Krishna has become a beacon of hope for many.
“My inspiration to start Malkajgiri Helping Hands came from a deep desire to make a tangible difference in the community,” he shares.

The turning point came during the COVID-19 pandemic when he witnessed the struggles of a family surviving on a single income. Seeing their hardship firsthand, he knew he had to act.
Identifying the Gaps: The Birth of Malkajgiri Helping Hands
Founded in 2021 with a small team of 20, Malkajgiri Helping Hands has since grown to over 70 dedicated members. The NGO focuses on bridging critical gaps in social support, particularly in food distribution, healthcare, and education. Krishna observed that during times of crisis, marginalized families struggled not just financially but also lacked access to necessary services.
“We noticed that people needed more than just immediate relief,” he explains. “They required structured support to overcome long-term challenges. That’s when we decided to expand our initiatives beyond basic necessities.”

Making a Difference: Key Initiatives
Malkajgiri Helping Hands stands out through its unique and impactful programs. Some of their most notable initiatives include:
Wheelchair Donations: Raised funds through charity cricket tournaments to distribute wheelchairs to people with disabilities.
Orphanage and Elderly Care Support: Provided essential groceries and basic necessities to struggling institutions.
Charity Birthdays: Encouraged individuals to celebrate their birthdays at orphanages, fostering a culture of giving.
Funding these initiatives has been a challenge, but Krishna highlights the role of passionate donors.
“We have received unwavering support from individuals across sectors—corporate, education, and politics,” he says. “Their commitment has been crucial in expanding our reach.”

Overcoming Challenges and Building Trust
Like any nonprofit, Malkajgiri Helping Hands has faced its share of hurdles:
Funding & Resources: Initially, the organization struggled to secure resources. “We relied on small donations, but as our impact grew, more supporters came forward,” Krishna recalls.
Building Awareness: Establishing credibility took time. “We focused on transparency, documenting our impact and sharing regular updates on social media,” he explains.
Volunteer Coordination: Managing a growing team was complex. To streamline operations, Krishna and his team implemented structured processes for communication and volunteer management.

The Game-Changer: A Milestone Moment
A breakthrough moment came with the NGO’s first large-scale charity cricket tournament. Not only did the event raise substantial funds, but it also significantly boosted the NGO’s credibility.
“This tournament brought in community support, attracted donors, and strengthened our mission,” Krishna shares.
He expresses deep gratitude for key individuals who have supported him along the way, including:
Malkajgiri Sai Kiran Reddy (BJP)
Mynampally Rohit (MLA – Medak)
Talasani Sai Kiran Yadav
Ganesh Balakrishnan (Deloitte South Asia)
Sudhakar Rao (ICFAI Group)

A Vision for the Future
Looking ahead, Krishna envisions Malkajgiri Helping Hands as a recognized and trusted nonprofit organization with a sustainable model. In the next five years, he aims to:
Expand initiatives
Establish long-term partnerships
Enhance support for food security, education, and healthcare
“Our goal is to make a lasting impact. We want to create programs that don’t just provide relief but also offer long-term solutions for communities in need,” he states.
