The fashion choices of female members of the royal family are often influenced by subtle nods to the places they visit, such as color, functionality and national symbols. The Princess of Wales is often seen in similar designs to midi-length dresses and coats with a belt or detail which accentuates her waist.
Now an expert says Kate and many other members of the royal family have adopted a new fashion trend that “makes them fit in.”
Last year, the royal presence returned as members of the royal family from all over Europe showed off their new looks.
The oversized garment has often become the garment of choice for several royals, including Kate, Meghan Markle, Queen Maxima of the Netherlands and Queen Letizia of Spain.
The Duchess of Sussex sported an oversized look in the Netherlands in April when she opted for an oversized white Valentino dress for the Invictus Games.
The £3,200 dress was paired with her wedding shoes and earrings during their visit to The Hague.
The Princess of Wales wore a similar oversized white suit jacket on a trip to Jamaica the following month.
Instead of the pleated style she chose in Jamaica, she wore the same Alexander McQueen pants.
Royal fans got a quick glimpse of the new style choice from the royal, with several comments on the Prince and Princess of Wales’ Instagram accounts.

Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden and Princess Charlene of Monaco also opted for modern business attire.
Celebrity stylist Miranda Holder told the Daily Mail that the look is on-trend and perfect for royals who want to look relevant and business-like.
She said: “This look works perfectly for the royal lady, as the on-trend silhouette keeps them fit and fashion forward.
Ms Holder added: “The nature of the suit, which is traditionally intended as business wear, means they are perfectly dressed for whatever gravity their schedule throws at them.
