The Every Day Earth Day campaign, spearheaded by eVAHAN in partnership with the Chandigarh Traffic Police and more than 100 participating schools, seeks to address the critical issue of air pollution by raising awareness about the importance of regular vehicle PUC (Pollution under Control) checks. Launching on World Earth Day, 22nd April 2023, the initiative invites more schools to join and contribute to this noble cause.
With young people as the driving force behind change, the Every Day Earth Day campaign aims to instill a sense of responsibility in students from a young age. By partnering with schools and engaging with students, the campaign seeks to create a generation of environmentally conscious citizens who will take proactive measures to curb air pollution.
The campaign will commence with a series of activities at key locations such as Transport Chowk, PGI Chowk, and Aroma Light Point. Volunteers from schools, colleges, and other organizations will distribute free PUC check vouchers to vehicle owners during red lights. The vouchers can be redeemed at eVAHAN Pollution Check Centres at IOCL Petrol Pumps in Sector 33 and Industrial Area, Phase 3.
Participating outlets have also joined the cause, offering rewards to those who get their vehicles PUC checked. Schools that join the campaign will not only contribute to a greener future but will also enjoy the benefits of positive publicity and heightened visibility through media coverage and social media shares.
To make this campaign a resounding success, we encourage more schools to join hands with eVAHAN, the Chandigarh Traffic Police, and the already participating educational institutions. Together, we can make a significant impact on air pollution and foster a cleaner, healthier environment for future generations.
By joining the Every Day Earth Day campaign, schools will play a pivotal role in educating and inspiring students to adopt environmentally responsible behaviours. Participation in this initiative offers a unique opportunity for schools to integrate environmental awareness into their curricula and demonstrate their commitment to sustainability.
The Every Day Earth Day campaign is designed to engage and unite the entire community. With the involvement of educational institutions, government agencies, and corporate entities, we can create a powerful, collective effort to combat air pollution and ensure a better planet for our children.
