Innospace has announced the opening of the country’s first multi-court indoor paddle center at one of Pardon Island’s premier parks.

The complex launched by Epic Padel – known as the Epic Padel Epicenter – will have four double courts on The Island, one court, a pro shop, a cafe, with free Wi-Fi and changing room facilities.
Paddle is a cross between tennis and squash, taking the best of these sports to create a fun and simple game. Padel players play the ball on an astronomical court surrounded by glass walls. Using a bat instead of a racket makes the paddle accessible and easy to pick up for all ages.
“The direction of padel in the last five to 10 years has been incredible. In the last two years alone, more than 10,000 courts have sprung up across Europe. Given this growth and the sportsmanship of South Africans, we felt it was the right time. Epic Padel’s Elian Wiener to promote the sport locally.” Help me.
Padel players can book courts through the PlayTomic app, while padel bats are available for rent on site. Bats, balls and other padel merchandise from some of the world’s biggest padel brands such as Adidas, Volt and Head are sold at the Pro Shop.
There will also be offers for all levels of players, as well as socials, tournaments and training leagues. Details will be shared on social media channels as well as WhatsApp groups and newsletters.
“Partnering with Epic Paddle allows us to show how we think about industrial real estate. With the popular indoor climbing destination Cityrock, Epic Paddle joining our customer communities is proof that traditional industrial areas are transforming into buzzing commercial hubs,” says Inospace COO Jacques Weber.
“We had a lot of requirements for the space. It had to be centrally located and large enough to have multiple indoor courts and enough space to create the social atmosphere of the club. Innospace could easily be leased to an industrial or logistics tenant. Simple requirements. But they bought into our vision of what we were trying to create. “A place that makes a positive impact in society is a place where people fit in, have fun and build relationships,” says Wiener.
