After a two-year hiatus, Asia Pacific’s premier agrofood tech event is back and bigger than ever.
This February, AgriFutures will come down to earth. It brings together global thinkers and local innovators to collaborate and rewrite the future of agrofood technology.
Over two days (February 21 and 22), farmers, entrepreneurs, researchers, investors and more will gather at the Adelaide Convention Center to discuss food, agriculture and the most innovative solutions to our planet’s biggest challenges.
Through a variety of back-to-back panel discussions, workshops, networking opportunities, exhibitions and Startup Alley, agri-food technology has brought together the brightest minds today. Discussing how to increase sustainability in agriculture and food production, the latest technologies in biosecurity and synthetic biology, the event program promises to give start-up founders and future investors plenty of food for thought.
Here are some of the highlights:
Drawing the future
On February 20, on the eve of Evokeᴬᴳ⋅ 2023, the Investor Peach Dinner will give five Australian and New Zealand investment-ready agricultural startups the opportunity to pitch to a room full of local and international investors. Each of these pioneering companies has a strong interest in the market, having previously raised capital in successful funding rounds.

- Eighth Day Foods, a Victorian alternative-protein company that produces the lupine-based protein LURPREME;
- Geora, a New South Wales-based startup using data to unlock sustainable agribusiness;
- Liro Robotics, Queensland’s premier robotics company specialized in post-harvest packaging of fresh fruit and vegetables;
- Nanobubble Agritech, a startup from New Zealand, can replace conventional irrigation with an Agritech system;
- And The Leaf Protein Company, a Victoria-based company committed to addressing the lack of biodiversity in the plant protein ingredients market.
Take a trip on Startup Alley
One of the key pillars of Down to Earth is the opportunity for local and international start-ups and scale-ups to showcase agro-tech innovation. Over a two-day program, Startup Alley will feature 40 startups, exploring the latest technology and ideas from Australia’s brightest minds. Startups unleash their creativity and potential, scientists provide valuable insights, and global business leaders and investors collaborate to bring the best ideas to life.
During the Evokeᴬᴳ⋅ Startup Showcase, seven local and international startups will take to the stage to present a three-minute demo of their products to a global audience. This presentation is a valuable opportunity for Cubans to expand their network and customer base, using the Evokeᴬᴳ⋅ platform to share their fundamental ideas.
The 2023 startup showcase will include presentations from Beewise, an Israeli startup using robotic hives to fight climate change. InvertiGro, the Aussies are shaking up the agriculture industry with indoor vertical farming solutions. and CropX, a New Zealand startup using data to optimize resources and outcomes for farmers.
