of the holiday season it’s when people travel a lot and eat whatever their heart desires, even if they normally follow a strict diet. While it’s okay to indulge once in a while, traveling doesn’t have to take a toll on your health. That means, when you’re exploring a new place and moving around, you can still prioritize your well-being and enjoy it.
On Instagram, nutritionist Rujuta Diwekar shared an important post, writing: “Nothing expands your mind and warms your heart like travel.” She shared some “quick and easy tips for frequent travelers.”
According to Diwekar, the first rule while traveling is to stay hydrated. She mentioned that you can carry a water bottle with you and sip on the ride. “Avoid tea and coffee on the flight and 60 minutes before boarding and after landing,” the expert advised. She also stated that she should avoid tea and coffee during a road trip and when inside a moving vehicle.
The other thing to keep in mind, according to Diwekar, is that when choosing hotels, choose one that offers access to a gym and can also provide you with a yoga mat. “If you travel to smaller places, keep your mat. Don’t forget to make five Suryanamaskar”, advised Diwekar.
She also said that one should lie in Supta Baddha Konasana for 5 minutes during sleep time. It’s also known as the Oblique Angle Pose, which requires you to lie down on the mat, then bend your knees to bring the soles of your feet together. Next, you should relax your shoulders, as shown in the video, staying in this position for a few minutes while gently breathing in and out.
According to yogajournal.comdoing this asana can stimulate organs like ovaries and prostate gland, bladder and kidneys. It can also improve overall blood circulation, stretching your inner thighs, hips and knees. It is also known to fight stress symptomshelping you sleep well.
Diwekar added in her post that before one leaves their hotel, they can order what?, dal chawal, pasta or risotto for dinner and ask the staff to deliver it at a certain time. “Take peanuts, cashews, pistachios, etc. Chew on them in between meetings and conferences,” she concluded.
