BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Along with the beginning of the new year comes the list of resolutions – the goals we have decided to build towards or achieve during the next 365 days. Many people in the capital area say they are looking forward to a fresh start in 2023, and there are three common goals: fitness, wealth and travel.
“I’ve had a lot of trials and tribulations,” said Danielle Lovely, a Baton Rouge resident. The past year was full of lessons for him. She noted that the year was generally difficult.
She is not the only one who had some weaknesses.
“2022 had some lows, but I had a lot of highs,” said Whitney Nixon, a friend of Lovely’s.
From inflation to COVID-19, Darius Boykins says he’s glad the year is over and confident about the year ahead. “I mean, I feel good, I always feel good,” he continued.
Many Baton Rouge residents say their New Year’s resolution is to win in two major areas — health and finances.
“To make sure I’m at my best. This could be for me and my children. Also give them great health,” smiled Lovely.
“So my plan is to emphasize less work, less work smarter. And as she said earlier, take this money,” Nixon emphasized.
Boykins says after losing his father and sister last year. His goal this year is to stay focused.
“Whatever you believe you want to do, you cannot do. You know, you don’t know. Don’t set a time limit on anything just because you may have set some goals and not accomplished them in a certain time, period. That doesn’t mean you can’t still achieve it,” he said.
