Health and Population Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar on Saturday chaired a meeting at the central crisis management and emergency room at the ministry’s headquarters to monitor the full implementation of the ministry’s Christmas medical security plan.
The minister checked the readiness of medical teams in all hospitals, as well as the availability of adequate stocks of drugs and medical supplies, said the spokesman of the Ministry of Health and Population, Hossam Abdel Ghaffar.
Abdel Ghaffar also checked the availability of adequate blood stocks in the ministry’s affiliated blood banks across the country, also reviewing ambulance service reports over the past two days.
He also inspected the ambulance units located in public areas and near churches and places of worship, the spokesman noted, noting that the ministry’s plan provides about 3,621 road ambulance units, along with 12 river boat ambulance units.
The chamber is working around the clock to ensure that the medical security plan is properly implemented and the necessary technical support is provided to all medical facilities, the spokesperson said.
After the meeting, the minister inspected the central room of preventive services to check the implementation of a ministerial disease monitoring program, the spokesperson added.
This room receives reports on infectious cases through the ministry’s hotline: (105)
