of New Year holidays are already being developed in many countries around the globe and LoyaltyLobby teams want to send best wishes to our readers wherever they may be spending New Year’s Eve.
In North America, it’s still noon on December 31st, and that means we’ll wake up tomorrow to see our annual loyalty account counters reset to zero again.
Every year there are some nice destinations around the world where people flock to celebrate New Year’s Eve, especially if you’re into fireworks, but this year may still be a little different in some parts of the world as many celebrations have been cut short. or cancelled. all.
As loyalty counters start fresh for many programs, we suggest double-checking your accounts that status and previous stays are properly reflected to be set for the new year.
This past year marked the first time since the pandemic that most of us were completely free to travel again. I was lucky enough to travel to North America and Europe, took three cruises and finally visited Korea, Taiwan and Japan again.
Some countries such as Japan, Malaysia, Korea and Taiwan had closed their borders for more than two years in terms of tourism. Hong Kong eventually allowed visitors too, albeit with severe restrictions that have since been relaxed.
I’m currently in Tokyo and most of the public countdowns like in Shibuya have been canceled again and even hotels like the Hyatt Centric Ginza have tuned their NYE program while others like the Park Hyatt Tokyo will go ahead.
Instead of dwelling on the negatives, I prefer to have positive expectations that the new year will finally bring us even closer to our previous normal lives. Whatever happens, we’ll deal with it one way or another.
We from LoyaltyLobby we wish all our readers a Happy New Year 2023, safe travels and a successful hunt for your loyalty rewards in the coming year!
