LAMAR COUNTY, MISS. (WDAM) – Business owners who need room to grow can find what they’re looking for at Greenwood Plaza.
The square is a commercial space that is undergoing renovation. It will be located on old Highway 11 in the Oak Grove area.
Tony A. Reimonenq Jr., CEO of the plaza, says this center is for owners who are ready to take the next step in their business.
“We wanted to provide a place for business owners who maybe started out in the pandemic and now they’ve grown to a point where they’re trying to move from their homes to professional retail and office spaces and so we have this space available for those entrepreneurs,” said Reimonenq.
He says businesses like an upscale men’s boutique, a gym and an urgent care are slated to be in Greenwood Plaza.
“Part of this process is not only is everything going to get a new makeover, but the county is widening the freeway, the three-way freeway, the multi-use (bicycle) traffic and walking is going right through this facility, so we’re excited about the economic opportunity here in Hattiesburg,” Reimonenq said.
The Square will also offer free monthly money management seminars, business growth programs and rental vouchers.
“CEOs from all over the country who have done millions and billions of dollars in business deals,” Reimonenq said. So (we’re) going to Skype those kinds of people to tell us how we can do the same thing they’ve done. There are also local bankers here that we will invite and come and share what the banking institution is looking for to expand the business or start a business. So the whole idea is if the business owner is successful, then the square is successful.”
According to Reimonenq, the aim is to have a quality space at affordable prices.
“I’ve owned a business for a long time that I’ve rented, and the rent would eat into my pockets, so if we had an opportunity to extend savings to people, we wanted to do it so that we could a quality space at affordable prices.” Reimonenq said.
Renovations to Greenwood Plaza are set to be completed by the end of this year.
