Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, is said to be when America’s retailers finally “come out of the red” for the year. On Black Friday, heavily discounted merchandise sales will push merchants “into the black,” profitability.
While this origin story has its doubts, the battered travel industry has come up with some sales magic for Black Friday 2022. We’ve rounded up some great international Black Friday travel deals.
Business Class to Milan or Paris: $2,000 round trip
There are plenty of deals on Black Friday, like Cyber Monday and Travel Tuesday. Business class airline La Compagnie just started selling “Blue Friday” tickets in a nod to their sky blue planes.
Anyone who has checked into international business class knows that the prices are astronomical. But through November 22, 2022, La Compagnie’s Blue Friday sale offers business class flights from Newark (EWR) to Milan and Paris for $2,000 round trip, good for travel through fall 2023.
Often called a “boutique airline”, La Compagnie operates new long-range Airbus A321neo aircraft, each equipped with 76 business class seats. In addition to the comfort of business class on board, flights include two checked bags per passenger, pre-flight lounge access and TSA PreCheck service.
To get you in the mood for a great trip, Italian and French chefs create meals on board. Food is served with a promising selection of wines and champagne.
Unless you’re traveling with that special someone (or even if you are), there’s separation between adjacent seats, so you can focus on the large seatback screens showing American and French films. If you need to work or stream, there’s free Wi-Fi. If you prefer to rest, take a pillow, blanket and a travel bag with an eye mask, flight socks and toiletries.

The deal is available on selected La Compagnie flights between December 1, 2022 and October 31, 2023, with no special closed holiday periods and subject to availability. Tickets are non-refundable.

Norse Atlantic: $119 One way from NYC to London, Berlin
If a business class trip across the pond isn’t in your budget, don’t worry. Startup Norse Atlantic has you covered for Black Friday.
Launched in March 2021, Norse Atlantic is a long-haul, low-cost airline flying transatlantic routes with large, modern Boeing 787 Dreamliners. It sounds like the good old days of Norwegian, when that budget airline set flight records to Europe using similar aircraft.
And like old Norse, Norse Atlantic offers some dynamic deals in Europe. For example, one-way fares from New York JFK to Oslo are $139, from JFK to London Gatwick $119, and surprisingly, fares from JFK to Berlin are $119.

Californians also get a Black Friday deal, with one-way fares from LAX to Oslo at $189. If you are departing from Fort Lauderdale, fares from FLL to Oslo are $159. Ft. Lauderdale to Berlin is $139 one way.
The above fees are for Economy Class tickets; Norse Atlantic also offers Premium seating with 43″ seat pitch and 12″ reach. Norse offers Light, Classic and Plus tickets. Light is like basic economy, with baggage, carry-on, etc. restrictions. Plus fares include maximum baggage allowance, two meal service and more ticket flexibility.

Cathay Pacific: Black Friday flights to Asia starting at $679
If Asia is your dream destination, Hong Kong-based Cathay Pacific says its biggest ticket sale of the year has begun. Economy Class flights start at $679, Premium Economy from $1,349 and Business Class from $3,166 round trip. According to Cathay Pacific, the prices quoted are based on a return fare per adult and include taxes and surcharges imposed by the carrier.
Deals include Bangkok, with Economy flights starting at $691, Premium Economy $1,558 and Business Class $3,959, and Tokyo, Economy $694, Premium Economy $1,646, Business $3,351. Next is Ho Chi Minh City, Economy $692, Premium Economy $1,559, Business $3,194, and even Kathmandu, Economy $836, Premium Economy $1,998 and Business $4,256.

Tickets are valid for departures from January 23 to May 23, 2023 and from August 15 to October 28, 2023, from Boston, Los Angeles, New York City or San Francisco. The entire journey must be completed by October 28, 2023.
