Jennifer Lopez maintained her reputation for bold and eye-catching fashion choices as she arrived at the world premiere for her upcoming film Shotgun Wedding.
The award-winning singer and actress hit the red carpet of the event in Los Angeles on Wednesday in a floor-length, silver-encrusted gown with a long flowing train and matching platform shoes.
Underneath was a tan bodysuit with a bright yellow bow to complement the patent yellow clutch.
Lopez has made waves with her fashion choices over the years — most memorably in 2016. At the 2000 Grammy Awards, she wore a green chiffon Versace dress with a deep V that went past her midriff.
Google’s former CEO Eric Schmidt later said that the rise of wearable searches inspired the company to create Google Images.
This is how Jello’s glamorous style has evolved from the nineties to today.
Jenny from the block
When JLo burst onto the scene in the nineties, her style was all about easy sexiness. The new face sports a big smile and long locks, and she opts for a sparkly minidress and low-key makeup on the red carpet.
However, Lopez never forgot her Bronx roots, and she was often dressed down as she was dressed up – while still managing to make the trackies look lusty.
Hollywood star
In the early mid-nineties, Lopez became a bona fide movie star. While films like Maid in Manhattan rocked the box office, her love life became prime tabloid fodder.
She’s engaged to Ben Affleck and ‘Bennifer’ became the start of a famous couple’s joint name – paving the way for Brangelina and Kimye.
During this time, her style became more and more attractive. She leans towards a Hollywood screen siren vibe, and big hair over a designer gown is rarely seen. As with most of her style, Lopez opts for a more neutral color palette with bright accents.
Her hair also changed – she cut her long locks, experimented with curls on the red carpet and her signature look was a big bun piled on top of her head.
Experimental Diva
Lopez rarely wears bright colors but still manages to experiment with her style. She is not afraid to try a new trend, for example, a strapless handkerchief dress with a soft felt hat – it was a great look in 2004.
Or when she wore Biba’s sparkly dress and matching headpiece in 2006? Only JLo can pull that off.
Age of animal print
In the early 2010s, Lopez’s fashion was all about animal prints. This was one of the more extreme eras of her style, as she was regularly seen in leopard print, lion or snakeskin – anything with an animal theme.
JLo today: stylish, sexy, sophisticated
Now 53, Lopez has honed her style. She’s still a lover of all things glitter and glitz, but her beauty has a more sophisticated edge.
She prefers full-length strapless dresses on the red carpet.
The dress Lopez wore to marry Ben Affleck in 2022 was a prime example of her fashion forwardness. Styled by Ralph Lauren, the high-neck was demure and sophisticated, with the skirt draped to a ruffled hemline beneath a slim skirt—that luscious Lopez edge.
