Jane Lu is the founder and CEO of Australia-based e-commerce giant Shopo.
In the year In 2010, Jane Lu quit her corporate job to start her own fashion company, Shopo.
“When I first started Showpo, I was in a lot of debt because my first business failed and I left my corporate job to pursue it,” Lu told “Good Morning America.” “I don’t have money to spend on marketing to build a brand. So I had to be crafty.”
Now, the Australian-based e-commerce giant has over 3 million followers across its social media channels and ships to over 120 countries worldwide.
Along with being a CEO, Lu is a mother of two.
“I think the biggest change in being a mom is that you can’t just do what you want when you want, especially now with a second child,” Lu says.
Her advice to other working parents is don’t be afraid to ask for help — and don’t sweat the small stuff.
“I think it’s about being flexible and not looking for perfection. Everything doesn’t have to be done now. And everything doesn’t have to be done to perfection,” she added.
When it comes to fashion, Lu says she lives in two-piece suits because of their simplicity and comfort. “You feel like you’re in your pajamas, but pop on your heels and some gold jewelry and you’re ready for work or dinner,” she said.
