Gorur Gash, an online-based start-up that blends fashion and humor in an amazing way, is one of the brands that appeals to the youth to incorporate colors, whimsy and creativity into their closets.
In our overcrowded apparel industry, this is how they make their mark, while their competitors rush to promote their collections with premium branding.

Proud Gash incorporates the latest trends and pop culture references for added relevance. The brand is now famous for its striking prints and catchy slogans.
In the year Launched in 2014, Goorur Gash, Nahian Nasser’s passion project, was born out of his entrepreneurial passion. However, back then, Goorur Gash was limited to selling posters and did not make its debut as a clothing label at that time.
In the year In 2017, Nahian along with newly formed team Fahim Islam Shetab and Ali Saki revamped Gorur Gash and rebranded it as a youth clothing label.
Unfortunately, the first set of t-shirts was not satisfactory. However, the designer refused to give up, and began working with multiple suppliers, adhering to strict quality control.
In the year In 2018, Team Gash launched its first flagship item – the Bangali Edition of the Japanese Kimono.
“Kimono was a very trendy thing then, and no brand was selling good quality kimonos. So we got undivided attention that gave the whole business a boost,” Nahian said.
The brand hasn’t stopped since then. From funky Cuban shirts to super basic t-shirts, there’s nothing from Gash State.
However, being an online entity, the brand’s growth was slower than initially expected as people at the time did not trust online-based brands and the products they were selling.
“We have put a lot of emphasis on marketing activation. In fact, we are one of the first brands in the country to introduce a trial and return policy,” said Nahyan.
However, due to the global pandemic, their fortunes took a turn for the worse as online shopping became the only option. After that, the launch continued in earnest.

Gorur Gash’s target demographic is youth between the ages of 15 and 30 years. The brand is a proud promoter of androgynous fashion, and apart from some exclusive products, most of its collection carries no gender label.
The price ranges of all the products are reasonable and budget friendly.
“The reason we don’t want to open any physical outlet is because it makes no sense these days. Also, renting a space increases our operating costs, which is reflected in our product prices. That’s the last thing I want,” said Fahim.
Currently, Gorur Gash is a team of nine people. Both the operations office and the brand manufacturing unit are located in Uttara.
Since its inception, Gorur Ghash has been available to customers across the country. Moreover, their collections are also available on Amazon US.

Party bombs and cable jackets
Corduroy jackets made of thick corduroy fabrics are versatile and can be paired with anything. Jackets are available in five different colors.
“One of the amazing features of our jackets is that they are full of pockets and zippers, which gives the wearer extra utility,” Fahim said.
To date, Goorur Gash has sold over 5,000 corduroy jackets.
Party dresses are a new addition for women, which add new dimensions to the concept of ‘party wear’.
Made from slightly thinner corduroy fabrics, these jackets are funky, versatile and have a certain disco vibe about them.

Proud Gash is one of the pioneers in the country introducing the timeless Harrington jackets, British outerwear. The name ‘Harrington’ is derived from a character from the original 1960s soap opera ‘Peyton Place’.
Harrington jackets are great lightweight jackets made of cotton or wool. The design is incorporated with traditional Fraser tartan and a stand-up collar.
Ghurur Gash also offers a trench coat (also known as a Cori jacket). Emerging in 19th century France, the frock coat was the go-to choice for the everyday worker.
