SAN DIEGO – San Diego County (ASD) Association of Aklan “2022 MUSA Fashion Show – A Fashion Show for All Generations” Sunday, August 28, 2022 at the Anchors Catering and Convention Center, 2375 Recreation Road, San Diego, CA 92136 from 1pm to 5pm Check-in Fee is $35 per person.
Musa fabric, founded by Joey So, is seen in the fashion show in creatively designed clothes. The event showcases the importance of using natural materials from banana fiber to create a variety of clothing and especially to support indigenous people in Tagum, Davao City, Philippines. In particular, the advocacy work aims to sustain the lives of disenfranchised people and indigenous communities in the province of Davao del Norte.
There will be 24 supporting models walking the runway in beautiful and creatively designed outfits by the designers of Musa House. It’s “fashion with a reason,” added Cindy Mack, the event’s organizer and director, as every fabric used in the clothing by Tagum City State Prison inmates and natives is intricately woven.
“We are very excited about the show and the importance of this advocacy,” said AASD Junior President Hernani Depostar.
AASD Vice President Rosa Pagala said, “This event shows our association in our community and that way we can help our fellow Filipinos in need.”
