ALBUQUERQUE, NM (KRQE) – Families and community members gathered in Albuquerque on Sunday to watch the World Cup final. Some left with a very special gift.
Comcast and its partners came together for the watch party in downtown Albuquerque on Sunday morning.
People cheered for their favorite team. There were also snacks and games for the children. After the game ended, 200 families were surprised with free laptops.
“Help them connect to the Internet. They can get an education, apply for jobs and really advance their family and their careers, such great things,” said Comcast Area Vice President Chris Dunkeson.
Comcast also installed wifi with a concert for Encuentro, an organization that supports the Hispanic community in New Mexico.
