The Central Kansas Free Fair is back in town.
CKFF held its annual 4H Fashion Show at Emmanuel Church on Monday, August 1st. The kids in the show come from different 4H groups. The age range was from elementary school students to high school students.
Although a fashion show, this wasn’t just for show. It was a competition. Children competed for various prizes based on their costumes, both made and purchased. Women’s race winners included Campbell Stoffer, Renata Heintz, Ryleigh Parsons, Ava Brown and Addison Acheson. Men’s race winners included Colton Abelt, Emil Pickerne, Max Dixon, Bracken Coup, Jed Moody, Drew Elliott and Ava Hedstrom.
During the event, the new King and Queen of the Central Kansas Free Fair were crowned. Tucker Seibert-Stroda of the Navarre Enrichment 4H Club was crowned the 2022 CKFF King, and Lyndsey Buechman of the Willowdale 4H Club was crowned the Queen.
“I feel great, I’m excited and I’m happy to be represented at the fair,” said Buchman.
She has been passionate about 4H since joining as a teenager.
“I started when I was young and since then I’ve loved the leadership aspect, and being able to develop my skills and use those to help other people and motivate me to do everything I’ve done in 4H.” he said.
She just graduated from Abilene High School and her next step is going to York University, where she will major in biology and join the women’s wrestling team.
A royal palace would not be complete without its attendants.
For the girls team, awards were given to Annalie Green, second assistant, and Renata Heintz, first assistant. For the boys, Jensen Woodworth was awarded second assist and Mason Fink brought home the second assist award.
