Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor Ian Bolland with Balanced Point Wellness tells us that most individuals suffering from anxiety or depression benefit from seeking therapy.
Bolland adds that the work is very much about working with the individual from within, so he emphasizes the importance of positive self-talk. “All the studies suggest that positive self-talk can be important for a number of reasons. They include helping to reduce stress, increasing confidence and resilience, and helping to build better relationships,” Bolland said.
“It’s important for people to get into some kind of therapy and then find that purpose and meaning.”
Bolland adds that the decision to start therapy is up to the individual when they are ready.
