The blazes have caused millions of pounds of damage, and the countryside is a bushel, but one of the world’s most famous fashion designers thought it was the perfect time to light a bonfire at her wild birthday party.
Hard-pressed firefighters who routinely save lives were called out for royal favorite Alice Temperley’s 47th birthday, their ‘boho chic’ dresses worn by A-listers from the Duchess of Cambridge to film stars. Keira Knightley.
‘She should be prosecuted for wasting the emergency services’ time and money,’ said a local man who lives on a nearby West Country Estate in Temperley.
It is understood the fire alarm at her property was triggered by the blaze, which the 44-year-old decided to light up as part of the celebrations, which were attended by fashion figures including Jade Parfitt.

Parfitt was later pictured wearing one of the hoses used to put out the fire, wearing a designer leopard print gown. ‘Health and safety gone mad,’ joked the model. Alice Temperley knows how to throw a party and she knows how to make the perfect clothes to put out fires. The firefighters are going to hire me because I’ve got everything under control.’
A spokesman for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service confirmed: ‘We were called to a fire at a property near Ilminster at 12.50am on Sunday 24 July and one fire crew attended.’
Temperley declined to comment.
But she doesn’t seem to have any regrets, judging by the snap she shared of her posing with friends and flipping her finger at the camera.

Oscar-winning British composer Ann Dudley is modest when it comes to showing off her glory.
