Well, that’s interesting. Cosmopolitan, the magazine best known for articles like “Seven Positions That Will Drive Her Crazy!” has announced the creation of CosmoTrips, which it describes as an opportunity for Millennials and Gen Z to “travel like an editor.” The first four destinations are New York, Austin, Charleston and West Hollywood. Alas, my dream of the Cosmopolitan trip to Las Vegas to stay at the Cosmopolitan Resort will have to wait for another day. This isn’t your typical tour, but for someone looking for cheap accommodation and a bit of guidance as to what to do, it could be perfect.
CosmoTrips offers “Quick Hits” of cities
Thinking of booking? The trips offer two- and three-night itineraries, according to the media brand, and include “the best places to stay, eat and play, plus exclusive benefits and insider access.” Naturally, Cosmo’s editorial team is pulling out all the stops (with some help from private tour operator Travel Curious).
Visit New York City, Cosmo Way
If you’re interested in a sample itinerary, Cosmo compiled an overview of what to see and do in New York City. At least, that’s what it looked like from the review. In fact, much of what they said was true is recommended places to visit, so be sure to pay attention to the “what’s included” section of the trip. For example, the synopsis talked about the Greenwich Village Secret Food Tour, but I didn’t see that anywhere in the itineraries on their site. Too bad, that pizza looks so good.
Naturally, the included goodies appeal to a new generation. You’ll get a free drink (a Cosmo, of course) at the trendy Cicchetti Bar, nightly admission to SUMMIT One Vanderbilt (which looks pretty cool), and top it off with a Blushington-designed “Glam Experience” full face makeup personalization”.
Accommodation will be at Motto Chelsea, which is actually a Hilton brand. Hilton describes the Motto as “travel-sized rooms,” which is small, but it’s a solid place, and the entire trip can be wrapped up in less than a night at one of the luxury downtown properties.
Booking your trip
You can book your trip directly on the CosmoTrips website, and two-night stays start at $349 per person, double occupancy. Three-night stays are $449 per person and require three people to book.
And my dream may not wait as long as I thought. Cosmo has announced that the next release of cities will include New Orleans, Miami and Las Vegas.
