The Nebraska Cornhuskers have added another pitcher to the class of 2022. According to Evan Bland of The Omaha World-Herald, pitching prospect JC Gutierrez has committed to the Cornhuskers.
Gutierrez just decommitted from Texas Tech. He attends La Joya High School in La Joya, Texas. Throughout his high school career, he has made 45 appearances while recording a 2.20 ERA, according to MaxPreps.
Gutierrez felt like he “belonged” to Nebraska.
“I had a lot of offers, but nothing else where I felt like I belonged,” Gutierrez said of Bland. “Coming from where I am, having a scholarship and not having my parents pay for college is a goal. I really didn’t want my parents to pay.”
