of New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) announced closures at the Exit 1W ramp from the southbound Van Wyck Expressway (I-678) to the westbound Belt Parkway in Queens, in or around Wednesday, August 3, until approximately Monday, August 15.

The closures are scheduled for Wednesday through Friday from 12:01 a.m. to 5 a.m. each morning. Weekend closures will last from Friday evening at 8pm and continue until Monday morning at 5am

Motorists wishing to enter the westbound Belt Parkway during these closures should take Exit C (Federal Circle) and follow the signed detour.

Inclement weather may cause these closures to be rescheduled.

These closures are necessary for work on NYSDOT’s $13 million sidewalk preservation project taking place in Queens, Brooklyn and Richmond counties.
