Some people sneak their own candy and popcorn into the movie theater. Chloe Fineman wears her snacks on her sleeve. On Sunday, the hilarious “Saturday Night Live” star arrived at the 2022 MTV VMAs in a dress covered in gum, lentils, rock candy, M&Ms and licorice — not a bad snack for a three-hour awards show. Designed by fashion label threeASFOUR and Instacart as part of the brand’s “The World is Your Cart” campaign, Fineman’s floor-length dress featured a futuristic design composed of holographic vinyl, holographic PU, silver nylon, metallic organza, organdy, duchess satin and more. Polyfill – inspired by snack packaging – and decorated with edible decorations.
“@instacart snacks is helping me sneak into the #vmas! Operation Cart Couture . . . let’s go!” She shared a behind-the-scenes clip of her hosting her own event on Instagram Stories. In true haute couture fashion, the otherworldly dress included a thigh-high slit and voluminous train lined with jelly bean-like bags filled with chips, candy and dried fruit. The comedienne wrapped her dress in orange and silver swirls that looked like ice cream past her shoulders under a cropped jacket.
Fineman accessorized her look with a chrome pedicure with a sparkling rhinestone handbag and strappy heels. During the IGS clip, Fineman also shared a glimpse of her matching silver manicure, which she accessorized with chunky carrot nail jewelry. Like Gemma Chan before her, the Fineman Award show look was the perfect snack between the night’s spectacular performances.
