HUSTON – Harris County Commissioners just passed the funding package to pay for a two-year program that will provide free IT/Tech training to veterans and youth ages 18-26, hoping to greatly increase their income .
The program is now offered in eight different cities across the US, including Detroit, St. Louis and New York. It’s offered by Npower, a non-profit organization set out to help young people in underserved communities get jobs they wouldn’t otherwise qualify for.
To register for the program, which will begin on March 27 in Houston, you must register at the following website and complete the following requirements:

Have a high school graduate or GED

Be a veteran or between the ages of 18 and 26

Be prepared to work hard on the program, which lasts 16 weeks
