Jesus Koudou had a 27-point, 22-rebound double-double performance to power West Caldwell Tech past Newark Lab 62-47 for its first win of the season in Newark.
West Caldwell Tech (1-2) dominated the first half and opened up a 36-21 halftime lead. Both tied teams scored 26 points apiece in the second half and Newark Lab (0-3) couldn’t mount any kind of rally that would lead to a deficit.
Koudou added three assists, two blocks and four steals to his double-double. As a team, Tech had 42 rebounds and Koudou grabbed just over half of them.
Javeir Bennett added 15 points, three rebounds, one assist and two steals, and Aziz Sutton-Shorter finished with 11 points, four rebounds and three steals for Tech.
