Linebacker Von Miller has been waiting for his first experience at Highmark Stadium, and the game-like atmosphere is making it easier for Miller to fall in love with Buffalo.
“Right when I came out, it just hit me,” Miller said. “The sun is up, and you see all the red, white and blue. Everyone’s cheering for you. I really felt at home when I came out of that tunnel.”
Hours before the players took the field, forward Dion Dawkins shared his excitement about seeing the home fans on Twitter. The energy turned out to be better than he imagined.
“The good thing is the fans keep showing up and showing up,” Dawkins said, “This place is epic and it’s electric in here. I’m happy to be a part of it and give these people some hope. We’re playing ball, so it’s a nice feeling.”
In the sea of red and blue, there were fans from down the road, fans traveling from out of state, and even one fan from around the world who had just become a soccer fan.
High school senior Jacobo Vimini, who recently traveled to Buffalo from Pistoia, Italy took the stage at Highmark Stadium for the first time.
