Vermont Agency of Food and Agricultural Markets The Northeast Dairy Business Innovation Center (NE-DBIC), hosted by the Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food and Markets, has announced three funding opportunities for dairy farmers and service providers.
Grant for storage and treatment of milk on the farm
Dairy farmers can apply for funding to support the purchase of equipment and supplies to improve milk storage, handling and energy efficiency. Applicants may select from a list of eligible devices. This grant has an application period of August 25 – October 6. Grants will range from $15,000 to $50,000 with a 25% commitment. Match waivers may be offered. Dairy Farm Group Technical Assistance Program
Service providers will be able to submit proposals to develop groups of dairy farmers to address relevant areas of technical assistance in their region. Building on the success of the eight current NE-DBIC funded cohorts, service providers can submit project proposals of up to $150,000. Topics may focus on grazing, forage growth, innovative farm practices, marketing and/or other areas of support for farmers. Funding for dairy farm production education
Funds are available for service providers and dairy producer associations to develop events, webinars, educational series or conferences to increase farmer-focused production and business sustainability education.
