The African music industry is booming, and the African Rising Music Conference (ARMC) is at the forefront of this exciting movement. The conference will be held in Johannesburg from 23-24 May 2023 at the Hallmark Hotel in Johannesburg, bringing together music industry professionals from across the continent and abroad.

The conference is excited to announce its prestigious Ambassador Program for 2023. This year, the program will recognize and honor five women who are making a significant impact in their respective fields. The program highlights their influence and impact on various communities and activities.
The five ambassadors are representing Megatronics, Fundy, Naimah Global, Namakau Star and Felisa, Fame Fest, Bridges for Music, New Future Records, ARMC and Viva Con Aguana.
RMC aims to showcase the diverse and dynamic music scene in Africa and provide a platform for music industry players to network, build bridges and collaborate. The conference will feature panel discussions, keynote speeches, workshops and live performances by some of the continent’s most exciting and innovative artists.
“This conference is about celebrating the incredible talent and creativity that Africa has to offer,” said Namakau Sochika, Head of Conference Communications and Ambassador. “We want to bring together the brightest minds in the music industry to share ideas, build relationships and explore new opportunities in this fast-growing market.”
This year’s conference will focus on Zambia and Germany and will be attended by representatives from various local and foreign countries. It offers dynamic workshops, activities and performances centered around the hip hop, indie and electronic music industries as well as Afro-Ero connections.
“We are proud to continue our partnership with the MTN Bushfire Festival, bringing artists and international representatives to Bushfire who will be exhibiting at ARMC. Delegates will be part of the Art Round Table, where artists from abroad will have the opportunity to add more exposure to their journey to South Africa,” said Sochika.
This year’s key themes are fostering independence, building bridges and amplifying women’s voices. After last year’s success and support from the likes of Mixmag, Music in Africa, Trace TV Southern Africa and Paradise Worldwide, we will be announcing this year’s partners as well as the creative program soon. This conference is not to be missed. We are on a mission to build bridges and create real change in the music ecosystem. This year, NAC will support the RMC to create 150 jobs for South African musicians and performers, which will facilitate knowledge transfer and better preparation for international exchange.
Participating in an exchange like ARMC shows how valuable each of these women are, selected as part of the Ambassador Program. We are excited to continue their journey as they represent their community.
